ELEMENTARY SCHOOL | COMPETITION
A school designed as a formative space - open, safe, and rooted in context. This project places community, light, and natural materials at the heart of its architecture, creating a learning environment that supports both social development and a sense of belonging.
The elementary school is perhaps the second most important building in life after the family home. We spend years there that have a decisive influence on our development.
We have tried to create a space that stimulates and motivates while also being safe. The building's design is centered around a large lobby - an atrium opens to events, meetings, and eye contact. Around it, all other educational, sports, optional, and administrative functions are built.
The school's architecture relies on large rhythmic glazing - picturesque views of the surroundings and urbanistic interiors like a large courtyard serving as a second external lobby. The finish is made of natural materials - light brick, wood, aluminum joinery, and copper-colored steel.
